Post Rags and Next Norwich
Dull deadlock as some described it, not me. I found it fascinating as two teams of almost equal ability sought to neutralise each other which they did successfully. Otamendi was awesome again with his MoM performance it shows where the balance of the game lay. Not the most entertaining for the newcomer but those steeped in history were truly engaged in the battle. And what’s our motto?
Now to welcome Norwich. Do they play in the rags’ true colours? Their derby game isn’t a painful short hop like ours but a round trip of 80 miles. We often score so many goals against them nature has seen fit to donate an extra digit to the odd one or two so they can keep count. I feel it’ll be needed this Saturday regardless of who we field.
Original nickname The Citizens colours light-blue and white they changed to their present strip where the newly named Canaries with mind-blowing deliberation played at The Nest. It is postulated that their anthem is the oldest football chant still in existence but as we are not really here I’ve never heard it. I did hear one of their many celebrity fans punching out a half-time “let’s be having you” after we had pummelled them into submission yet again.
I must thank Delia for her spotted dick and for giving us John Bond.
